The King will reply, 'Tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
- Matthew 25:40 (NIV)
Volunteers are the backbone of The Samaritan Shelter. Volunteers assist us in carrying out the meaningful duties required for our continued success.
Consider volunteering in the following ways:
Food Bank and Soup Kitchen help is needed on Tuesdays from 10:30am to 2pm, on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 1pm and on Saturdays from 1pm to 2pm. Work involves helping to prepare and serve lunches for the soup kitchen. Tuesdays and Saturdays, individuals will also help distribute food to families and individuals that attend the food bank.
Child care, general kitchen help preparing dinner for residents, office help, arts and crafts classes (your choice on the subjects!) and workshops twice a month on topics such as parenting, cooking and nutrition, balancing checkbooks and general financial overviews of how to manage money and expenses.
Handyman and construction projects such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and painting.
